ACQUISITION AND PROVENANCE
OB-01 is the founding fragment of the registry. It is not the first fragment found — the BLACKBOOK is clear that the Lapidary's history precedes its records — but it is the first fragment around which formal record-keeping was organised.
The holder acquired OB-01 through inheritance. The fragment had been in the family for at least three generations prior to contact with the Lapidary. Earlier provenance is undocumented. The holder's account suggests the fragment was treated as an unusual but unremarkable object — a curiosity, a conversation piece — until the first liquefaction event, at which point the holder began searching for others who had encountered similar material.
The Lapidary found the holder through this search. The holder did not find the Lapidary. This is noted as the standard pattern of contact for all fragments except OB-09.

CROSS-FRAGMENT OBSERVATIONS
During the liquefaction events of OB-05 (FIELD-REPORT-0041) and OB-07 (FIELD-REPORT-0089), remote monitoring of OB-01 registered anomalous temperature readings lasting for the duration of the remote events. The fragment did not liquefy. Its cold deepened measurably — approximately 2.3°C below its established baseline — for the duration of each remote event, then returned to baseline.
The Lapidary does not have a mechanism for this. Distance between OB-01 and OB-07 at time of the most recent observation: approximately 1,400 kilometres.
